We're happy to have you here. Below are the Board Guidelines that apply to ALL of the forums at Lost-Forum.com. Gertiebeth is the board owner and provider of the space here. However, if you have any questions or need any help, just PM any one of the Moderators individually.
These guidelines are pretty simple, therefore those posts that do not comply with the guidelines will be edited or deleted. Oh, and "I never bothered to read the guidelines" is not a valid excuse!
Language: Please keep it at the PG-13 level. If you have to wonder about a word, chances are it's probably not appropriate. Remember, the Thesaurus is your friend and it will help you look a little smarter to boot. Also, do not try to trick the auto-censor. It will get very cranky, come to life, and we'll have to start offering it sacrifices. Dirty business.
Spamming: The posting of ads for the solicitation of sales is not appropriate, along with spamming the forums with posts of self-promotion. Please don't spam the different forums with repetitive threads on the same subject. You have two options for promoting your own website: your sig, or the Website Promotions thread. This also includes advertising of your site via PM, especially when this advertising is unwanted by the members it has been sent to. PM spam will be dealt with harshly. Sites that are known to spam/harass LF and our members will NOT be allowed to advertise on LF in any way, including sigs or the promotion thread. Spamming also consists of posting off-topic, making short posts that contribute little to the topic such as "lol yeah."
Chit-Chatting: While we encourage users to discuss topics and respond to each other in threads, Lost-Forum is a forum, not a chat room. "Chit-chatting" occurs when only a handful of people post one after the other in a manner akin to chatting in a chat room. Chit-chatting is often very spammy and is better suited for PMs or instant messaging programs and is not appropriate posting behavior here at Lost-Forum.
Trolling/Flaming/Bashing/Baiting: We respect the right of everyone to express their opinions without fear of being attacked or personally insulted. Feel free to debate strongly and offer firm opinions. However, if you feel the need to indulge in mean-spirited and personally directed insults, attacks, and quarrels, do so off the forum. Baiting or inflammatory posts or PMs designed to attract or elicit predictable responses are not appropriate and persistence in this activity can result in suspension or banning.
Screen Names: Members should have one screen name. Sometimes obtaining a second screen name is simply accidental due to problems with signing up and sometimes it's a deliberate effort to facilitate trolling. Either way, it wastes space. So from time to time, we will run checks to find the duplicate accounts and delete the duplicates. We will do our best to contact you to let you determine which of your screen names you would prefer to keep.
If you're unsatisfied with your screenname and want to change it, send your request via private message to one of the Administrators; Moderators cannot change usernames. Also, keep in mind that every user is only allowed ONE username change so when you're making the change, make sure that this second name is definitely the one that you want to keep.
Double Posting: Double posting is defined as posting a message in a thread twice (or more) in a row. Please use the EDIT button and edit your original post if you need to add something.
Official Threads: For some reason, it seems some people have an unbearable urge to label any thread they make as Official. On Lost Forum, no thread is official unless sanctioned by the Staff. We will remove the word from any thread that we didn't approve as being official.
Picture Posting Rules: Please feel free to post photos/wallpapers/artwork. We ask that you PLEASE upload them directly to the forum. This will insure that the image will not be broken and that a thumbnail is created to help reduce load time.
(et j'aurais tendance à ajouter "utiliser la fonction de recherche avant de poser une question déjà posée quarante-douze fois)
